I bought Gypsy from her original adopters in June 2004. I had not intended to get a mustang, but I happened to see her while searching for an endurance prospect to purchase. I was captivated by her gorgeous conformation, smooth movement, and the energy and spirit she conveyed. I could not get her out of my mind, so I talked my husband into driving six hours through near-continuous thunderstorms to pick her up. She had been traumatized and was so frightened it took months before I could approach her without causing her to back away. Seeing her eyes soften as she slowly came to trust me was amazing, and the moment she first let me touch her is forever imprinted in my memory. She is the reason I first became interested in mustangs. Gypsy is my "spirit horse" and will never be sold. Although she has connected with me, she does not do well with strangers. I am hoping to begin her endurance career in 2007 - as soon as she will allow vet checks! |
