Freedom Ranger

  • 2003 BLM gelding from Green Mountain, Wyoming
  • Color: bay with white star and snip, white front sock
  • Freezemark: #03840385

I adopted Ranger and brought him home April 5, 2006. I chose him because I liked his conformation: straight legs with perfect hoofs and good bone; a short, straight back; lean build with a deep chest and well-sprung ribs; good balance and a pretty head. And I liked what I saw in his eyes!

He is extremely athletic and can jump five foot fences at a slow and easy lope. He is quick and has gorgeous, smooth gaits. He has what it takes to be a fantastic endurance horse, but we won’t know for certain until we start him under saddle next spring.

Because Ranger is so shy and reserved, he will not be offered for sale until we feel comfortable with his ability to bond with a new owner and adjust to a new home. Right now he is still learning to trust us. He is very gentle and anxious to please, but he tends to be a tense, worried horse. His confidence will grow as his training progresses, however, so we may consider selling him to the right person at some point in the future.
